Kualoa Ranch valleys and regions

  • Ka’a’awa Valley (Jurassic Valley): The most famous valley, used for Jurassic Park, Kong: Skull Island, 50 First Dates, Jumanji, and more. Most movie-focused tours and UTV rides take place here.
  • Hakipu’u Valley: A scenic agricultural valley focused on sustainability, local farming, and you pass through this region on your zipline course. Views of Kaneohe Bay and coastal landscapes are often seen during adventure tours.
  • Kualoa Valley: The historical heart of the ranch and the site of many Hawaiian cultural stories. Some movie scenes were filmed here as well.
  • Secret Island Beach: Located by Kaneohe Bay, this is a private beach with a dock used for water activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, volleyball, and beach relaxation.
  • Kaneohe Bay: This beautiful coastline is visible from many tours. It’s famous for offshore sandbars, ancient fishponds, and ocean views during the Jurassic Adventure or Zipline Tour.

Visitor tips

  • Understand the valleys before booking: Different tours take place in different valleys; some focus on movies, others on views or adventure.
  • Book back-to-back tours with enough time in between: Leave at least 30-45 minutes between activities if switching locations on the ranch.
  • Movie Sites Tour is a good first tour: It helps you understand the layout of the ranch and recognize areas you’ll see again during other tours.
  • UTV Raptor Tours and Jurassic Adventure Tours: These tours go deeper into Kaʻaʻawa Valley than any other tour, making them ideal for an in-depth exploration of the lands with a movie sightseeing context.
  • Use Waikiki-to-Kualoa travel time wisely: Aim to arrive at least 45 minutes early to park, enter, and check in for your tour.
  • Secret Island Beach is a half-day in itself: Not recommended to add more than one tour if you’re planning the half-day beach visit in a single day.
  • Food court and restrooms are located near the check-in area only: Use the facilities and pick up additional food or snacks in between tours.
