Rainforest areas
The windward side receives higher rainfall and stronger winds compared to the rest of the ranch, resulting in greener landscapes in Hakipu’u Valley areas.
Valley regions
The Jurassic Valley and the surrounding lower regions in the northern part of Kualoa Ranch are typically drier and receive a lot more sunshine during the summer months (April to October).
Coastal areas
Secret Island Beach, the Moli’i fishpond, and the Kaneohe Bay area have tropical climates throughout the year, with a higher UV index as compared to the other regions in Kualoa Ranch.
Average temperatures: 77°F to 68°F (25°C to 20°C)
Spring months at Kualoa Ranch mark the transition from the rainy season to a drier climate, with relatively cooler temperatures and more sunshine. Expect higher rainfall in March, transitioning into little rainfall in May.
Things to do:
Average temperatures: 85°F to 74°F (29.5°C to 23.3°C)

Average temperatures: 82°F to 72°F (28°C to 22°C)
The temperatures in the fall months are still relatively warm, but the climate is transitioning towards the wetter months in Oahu. This period is also the shoulder season, which means fewer crowds, giving you more time and space to explore the ranch at your own pace.
Things to do:
Average temperatures: 79°F to 70°F (26°C to 21°C)
Winter in Kualoa Ranch marks the beginning of the “wet season” in Oahu. The temperatures continue to be mild, and do not dip below mid-60s at their coolest, but there is plenty of sudden rainfall. The ranch turns lush with greenery, and there is still plenty of sunshine in the area. It’s also the low season, which means there are very few visitors during this time of year, making it great to explore the greenery and take in the views without any crowds.
Things to do:
Kualoa Ranch has warm tropical weather year-round. Temperatures generally stay between 23°C to 30°C (74°F to 86°F). It rarely gets cold, but the humidity is high, especially in summer.
Yes. Quick, passing showers are common, especially in the morning or late afternoon. It might rain for 10–20 minutes and then clear up completely. Most tours still operate in light rain.
Only severe weather (heavy rain, lightning, high winds) can cause cancellations. Light or intermittent rain does not usually stop tours. If Kualoa Ranch cancels due to weather, they typically offer rescheduling or refunds.
Midday sun can be strong during the summer months (May to August). 10am to 2pm is peak heat, so plan shaded or calmer activities during this time. Hydration is important, so carry a water bottle!
UTV tours become mud-heavy adventures right after rain, and many visitors love this. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a change if you’re heading elsewhere afterward.
Absolutely. UV levels are high even when it is cloudy. Apply sunscreen before arrival and reapply during the day, especially for longer tours.
Yes, especially the Zipline Adventure. High winds may temporarily halt operations for safety. Other ground tours are usually unaffected.
The driest months are April–October. However, even during wetter months, showers are usually scattered and brief, so year-round visits are still enjoyable.
Possibly. Certain tours pass through stream areas, muddy paths, or humidity-heavy zones, so moisture is part of the experience. Quick-dry clothing helps.
